The Story
To certain groups in the Philippines, the sun was the god Apo Laki. He was also the god of war, and the chief patron of warriors. Legend says that when the Spaniards arrived on our shores, the god himself appeared before a group of men in the mountains, prophesying a time when he and the gods of our ancestors would be forgotten.

The Araw Hoop Earrings are a reminder of our ancient heritage, that the blood of warriors and voyagers of old flows through our veins. We will not forget who we are nor where we came from.
The design for these hoops is also partly inspired by the sun on the Philippine flag. The rays were simplified for a more streamlined design.
Details
Materials: Mother-of-pearl "cracked"-style inlay, 24 kt gold-plated brass, stainless steel posts and backs. Stainless steel findings make these safe for sensitive ears.
Measurements: 4 cm in diameter. Each hoop earring weighs a light 9 g.
